We do things differently

There are many features that makes Codam different from traditional education. There are no pre-admission requirements, no tuition fees, no teachers, no classrooms, and no semesters. What we offer is a unique, high quality and in-depth software engineering education. Anyone 18 years or older is welcome to apply.

High Quality Curriculum

The curriculum consists of carefully crafted projects with a clear goal and set of instructions. These projects offer an exciting challenge while remaining accessible. Students have to identify and acquire the knowledge necessary to solve problems. This way, they develop the most important skill of all: learning to learn.

Peer Learning

Peer learning at Codam primarily focuses on promoting student engagement. It encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation. Students learn how to find solutions to new problems as they arise instead of being taught the specifics of how to solve one.

Codam covers your tuition fees

High-quality education should be open and accessible to everyone, without fees. Everyone should have the chance to become a qualified software engineer, regardless of their background. That is why Codam covers the tuition of all their students.

No prior education or diploma needed

Codam attracts a diverse pool of candidates which creates a mixed range of students and talent. We don’t look at grades, recommendations, or diplomas, nor do you need previous experience in programming to join Codam. Students will learn the necessary skills for success from scratch.

Testimonials

Everyone deserves the chance to become a software engineer, regardless of their background. Codam welcomes all to write their future, but don’t just take our word for it.

Niks

I studied at a Dutch university and completed a masters in cancer research, however it lacked the hands-on learning that Codam provides. At Codam you learn programming by applying it immediately in your code.

Thijmen

Codam is a safe place to learn anything I want to without pressure. I learned how curiosity and courage inspired confidence.

Saladin

I am a 24 year old college drop out and spent the last few years organizing parties and making music as a DJ. When I read about Codam in the newspaper, I immediately signed up and took the test. I'm still glad that I made that choice!

As a Graphic Designer I worked alongside the digital teams of advertising agencies which sparked my interest in tech. I love Codam’s peer-to-peer learning model and flexibility which gave me new perspectives.

Company testimonials

I would recommend companies to hire Codam students. They are technically versed and great team players who have learned to collaborate well to identify, research and scope the problem to solve it.

Codam students adapt easily. When we told them we code in a different language, they said: just give me two weeks. They are true problem solvers and independent at the same time. It’s astonishing that they already know how to write scalable and production-ready code. They can add value from the start

The students from CODAM are smart, talented and come with great coding skills and the fact that they learn this via peer-peer coaching is unconventional!

We took on some Codam students last year and have had nothing but praise from our teams. Their knowledge, energy, and eagerness to learn are only some of the reasons we enjoyed working with Codam and the students so much. We are hugely excited to be a part of this year's program and are looking forward to having a few more students experience the Dott journey. The students coming out of the Codam program are some of the most knowledgeable students I have come across, which is a testament to the college itself.

Students from Codam are really self-starters! The peer-to-peer methodology helps them to figure out things themselves rather than waiting for others to get them the info.

Students from Codam aren't only able to pick up new technologies and frameworks quickly, they are also eager to develop themselves on a personal level and learn more about the company they are working with. Our developers were surprised by what Codam taught its students in a limited time in comparison to traditional education, and by how quickly our intern integrated into the team both personally and professionally.

Codam's students have, in our experience, shown both technical and self-management skills. The ability of independently working on complex and not fully specified problems has been much appreciated.

To join Codam, we ask you to complete 3 steps: play the online game, attend an Introduction event, and join a Selection Piscine.

You need to play the online game on a desktop. You'll have 2 hours and 10 minutes to solve as many puzzles as you can. After you've passed the game, you can sign up for the Introduction event. This is an introductory presentation where you’ll have the chance to ask all the questions you may have. Next, you can join a Selection Piscine. The Piscine (‘Pool’ in French) is a 4-week, 7 days a week, day and night coding challenge where motivation, willpower, and hard work will keep you afloat.

After finishing these 3 steps, you know with certainty if Codam is something for you. Exiting the admission process is possible at any time with no strings attached.

"It’s a challenging task, but many students including myself consider it to be one of the best parts of my Codam experience" - Swenne
