Codam plays a vital role in training the software engineers that The Netherlands desperately needs. My goal is to increase Codam’s visibility, ensuring that both students and strategic partners can discover the opportunities we provide. By scaling our operations and forging strong collaborations, we can position Codam as a leading force for good in the tech sector.
My mission is to share the amazing, transformative stories of Codam students. What did Codam's innovative, top-notch,peer-to-peer software engineering education mean for their personal journeys? I'd love to convince more women to learn programming!

“As a tech entrepreneur, I am acutely aware of the shortage of good software engineers and digital visionaries. Through my foundation on improving social mobility, we've found untapped talent over the past ten years. Codam is bringing the two together. “The school is home to a diverse community of students learning the skills that will prepare them for the future of work and provide secure employment anywhere in the world!”
Amsterdam has been a center for technology-driven innovation and collaboration for centuries – from the Golden Age to recent times with the influx of disruptive start-ups. It's therefore only fitting for Codam to open its doors here, nurturing a new pool of motivated and diverse coding talent critical to the success of technology companies like TomTom. Codam's ethos around peer-to-peer learning sets students up with the right skill set for success in a professional environment.
I began my career at Goldman Sachs in New York and London, before moving to GLG partners to run the European Opportunities Fund. Since 2006, I have been part of a Dutch single-family office based in London, most recently focused on sourcing new investment opportunities. At Rinkelberg, I became aware of the interests of the philanthropic foundation and the creation of Codam. There is no doubt that Codam prepares the next generation of software engineers and many of Codam’s students improve their career prospects by completing the curriculum. I am proud to join the board of Codam to support future growth and Codam’s students.
Working in the international tech space for over 20 years, I have seen a significant shortage of high-quality software engineers. I've also learned that good education can make a real difference, offering people opportunities regardless of their background or origin. Codam in Amsterdam brings this vision to life by providing free, high-quality, scalable software engineering education to everyone, preparing the next generation for today’s and tomorrow’s jobs and securing employment opportunities worldwide. I am delighted to contribute to this fantastic mission in my home country.
Codam has been firmly put on the map in recent years by an enthusiastic team. With an innovative concept that deserves to be followed. It is an early but promising answer to the issues of equality of opportunity, diversity, the demand for people with a science education and the teacher shortage. With my experience as an educational entrepreneur, director and consultant, I hope to help Codam with a broader financial support and growth ambition in the coming years.
